The French authorities are going to lift the Sarkozy government's ban
on Turkey's EU membership, the Turkish Milliyet reported.
Citing diplomatic sources, the publication says that French Foreign
Minister Loran Fabius will unveil the plan to his Turkish counterpart
at a February 2 meeting in Germany.
Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu will be reportedly informed that the former
president's demands are no longer effective.
Nicolas Sarkozy, who was against Turkey's EU integration, had
repeatedly stated, while in office, that the country has no place in
the Union as it lacks enough potentials for membership.
