The Yerevan municipality is planning to install 100 digital signboards
in different bus stops of the capital city by June.
To date, only one road intersection in central Yerevan has such a device.
The new signboards are expected inform passengers of the buses'
arrival time and itinerary, as well as the expected delays etc.
The special map on the signboards will help tourists find useful
information on different facilities nearby (hotels, banks,
drug-stores, theatres etc).
Tert.am has learned from the City Hall's Technologies Management
Center that the companies in charge will be supplied with an
information-analytical system to manage the traffic. It is also
planned to launch a website providing real-time information on the
itineraries.
According to the municipality's Transportation Department, the capital
city has 750 stops for public transport.
The initiative, implemented within the frameworks of an investment
program, is expected to is expected to be on-going.
