Archbishop pays tribute to martyrs of 1979 freedom-seeking Revolution
Tehran
Archbishop of Azarbaijan's Armenians Gregor Chiftechian said the
victory anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran is an apt
opportunity to renew allegiance to the martyrs of the freedom-seeking
movement.
The archbishop made the remarks in a special ceremony here in this
northwestern city to commemorate the 34th anniversary of the victory
of the Islamic Revolution.
He said these glamorous days commemorate the unforgettable period of
bravery, loyalty and sacrifices of the Iranian nation.
Commenting on the history of the presence of Armenians in Iran, he
said the religious minority is an inseparable part of of the Iranian
nation.
Archbishop Chiftechian further pointed to the sacrifices the Armenian
community made alongside their Muslim brothers.
