Thoroughly Investigate Attacks on Women, Demands NGO

London, Jan. 31 -- Amnesty International has demanded that the Turkish
government should look into attacks undertaken against Armenian women
living in Turkey.
It was reported that four women were brutally attacked and all the
attacks took place in Samatya. It was also informed that all these
women were of Armenian origin and lived in Turkey. One of the attacks
proved fatal for a woman. The NGO asked that the authorities should
launch an impartial investigation into the matter. It stated that the
authorities should not ignore the fact that the attacks can be racial
and hateful in nature.
The organization also expressed major concern towards safety of women
in Turkey. The attacks were subjected towards elderly women. It stated
that they should be respected and not treated in such a shameful
manner during their twilight years. The attacks happened in a span of
two months but nothing has been done by the security officials.
Amnesty International has been working for betterment of the society
and also aims at protecting rights of people living across the world.
