Armenian President said restoration of Abkhazia railroad realistic

YEREVAN.- Restoration of railway communication from Georgia to
Abkhazia is realistic, presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan told
voters in the town of Artik, Shirak Region.
`I see an opportunity for restoration of the railroad traffic. Newly
appointed Georgian Premier, recently visiting Armenia, assured me that
restoration of the Abkhazian section is beneficial to Georgia.
Therefore, we must work together with Georgian, Abkhazian and Russian
parties to settle the issue which is of paramount importance for us,'
he said.
The initiative was put forward by a new Georgian cabinet, in
particular Minister for Reintegration Paata Zakareishvili. During his
trip to Armenia, Bidzina Ivanishvili said Georgia takes every effort
to settle the issue.
