(OIC) will be held in Turkey. The decision was made at the XII summit
of the OIC in Cairo on February 6-7. Discussions on Azerbaijan were
also held at the Summit, former Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan,
current head of the department of relations with African states of
Turkish Foreign Ministry told Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency,
APA reports.
Hulusi Kılıc noted that XIII Summit of the OIC will be hosted by
Turkey in 2016. According to the ambassador Azerbaijan was among the
first states supporting Turkey's candidacy to host the next summit
of the OIC. "In our turn, we will do our best the next summit of OIC
to be held in Azerbaijan. We do not differentiate between Azerbaijan
and Turkey", said H. Kılıc
According to ambassador Azerbaijani side raised issue on
Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict and occupation of
Azerbaijani territories. Foreign Minsiter of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu
had a support speech for Azerbaijan and underlined importance to free
Azerbaijani territories soon.
Besides support to "Justice to Khojali" campaign was reflected
on the Final Declaration of the Summit. Important paragraphs on
Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict as well as on North
Cyprus problem were added to the Final Declaration.
Diplomat denounced the statement of Armenia to open the airport in
Khojaly, in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. He stated that
the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is recognized at the UN
Security Council: " In four resolutions adopted by this influential
international organization, the occupation of Azerbaijani territories
is marked openly and clearly. Thus, the air space of the occupied
territories also belongs to Azerbaijan. For flights over the occupied
territories strains the current situation and delivers a blow to the
peaceful settlement of the conflict. These areas are the historical
lands of Azerbaijan. Alongside Turkey and Azerbaijan it is confirmed
by the United Nations. All flights over these territories are illegal.
We support immediate and peaceful solution of the conflict, and we want
future generations to live in peace and tranquility. We are ready to
give full support. We also wish that the OSCE Minsk Group will take
more drastic measures to prevent flights, which can lead to increased
tension. We hope that Armenia will not realize flights in the occupied
territories of Azerbaijan. We are not against Armenia. However,
Armenia should immediately withdraw from the occupied territories. "
