YEREVAN. - Ever since being appointed the new Secretary of State of the
United States, John Kerry has started working in accordance with what
President Barack Obama says; and this certainly is comprehensible to
some extent. Giro Manoyan, Director of the International Secretariat
of Armenia's opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party Bureau and Head of
the Armenian Cause Office, told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
"But one cannot overlook the fact that the serving secretary of
state was much closer to the Armenian community [of America] than his
predecessor [Hillary Clinton]. John Kerry will be more accessible for
the Armenians. This, in turn, may mean that, owing to [his] awareness
of the Armenian viewpoint, the [new] secretary of state will have the
opportunity to give right advice to the president of the country,"
Manoyan noted.
Also, he expressed a view that John Kerry will be more open to
listening to the position of the American-Armenian community.
