Vladimir Akopian finds Armenian chess team unique

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 14, ARMENPRESS. Thrice chess Olympic champion
Vladmir Hakobyan considers the Armenian men's chess team to be the
best. During the press conference held on February 4 Vladimir Hakobyan
stated: "The Armenian men's chess team is unique, I don't think we
shall have a team like this ever again." According to the Olympic
champion there is no sense to introduce the best staff in the upcoming
European championship, as far as just after the European championship
the team chess championship of the world will be held. As reports
"Armenpress" Vladimir Hakobyan stated: "In my opinion the European
championship is not of such a great importance, because in the world
of chess there are two foreground tournaments. They are the Olympics
and chess championship. We should spare no effort to record the best
result in the world championship."
Presently the Armenian men's chess team is training in Jermuk. In the
end of the year the Armenian men's chess team will participate in two
major competitions. The Armenian chess players will take part in the
European chess championship and the championship of the world.
