Judges Wheedling The Oligarchy
Zhoghovurd Newspaper
Law - Friday, 15 February 2013, 13:01
The Zhoghovurd Newspaper's editorial house has received the decision
of the judge of Kentron and Nork Marash Court of General Jurisdiction
of Yerevan about satisfying partly Khachik Khachatryan's claim
arresting property of the newspaper at 3 million AMD belonging to
journalist Sona Grigoryan. The case causes concerns because almost one
month ago another judge of the same court, Ruben Apinyan, arrested the
property of the Zhoghovurd at 3 million. Human rights organizations,
as well as the head of the NA Standing Committee on Human Rights and
Public Affairs voiced their concern over the situation. Protests were
held with the participation of a number of civil activists and
organizations but the courts attempts to silence the media, they don't
care about the freedom of speech and human rights. The Zhoghovurd
states that Khachik Khachatryan aims at infringing freedom of speech
through sending the newspaper bankrupt. But the newspaper is going to
prove that Yerevan Poultry Farm sold expired eggs to have Khachatryan
apologize to the newspaper.
