YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 16, ARMENPRESS: Lack of financial resources, and
social conditions occurring in Armenian families should not become an
obstacle for talented young people to get higher education. As reports
Armenpress, this was noted by Armenian Prime Tigran Sargsyan during
the official scholarship certificate handing ceremony in Yerevan State
Medical University.
Youth Foundation of Armenia has provided 810 first and second year
students of state universities, who haven't been included in the list
of state scholarship, with scholarship certificates. Tigran Sargsyan
has noted this is the third time he is participating in such event and
thus wants to highlight the consistency of Armenian government in this
issue.
`We are going to make efforts in this direction. We are going to
increase financial assistance to talented young people,' Prime said,
adding that for scholarship, Armenian government had provided Youth
Foundation of Armenia with AMD60 million.
Prime Minister of Armenian Tigran Sargsyan and Minister of Education
and Science Armen Ashotyan personally handed the certificates to
student.
Head of Youth Foundation of Armenia and deputy of Armenian National
Assembly Karen Avagyan urged students to study well in order to ease
the burden of their parents.
Students expressed their gratitude to Armenian government and youth
Foundation for implementing this program.
1367 students of Armenian Republic have applied for receiving scholarship.
