Two days are left till the last `election' of the criminal-oligarchic
system established in Armenia. Ahead of this election the system has
almost decayed in the result of deep processes in Armenia and around
it over the past 5 years.
The system and its screen - the previous and present political
coalition - are walking towards this election having different
statuses. The wreath of the system, the Republican Party, has
nominated a candidate, the other `core' parties PAP, ARF and the
Armenian National Congress have not nominated their candidates. These
parties refer to different reasons for refraining from the election,
which highlights their real nature and motivation.
The leader of the ANC mentioned his age. It was said on behalf of the
PAP leader said his participation might cause bloodshed. The ARF said
elections will not help achieve change.
These parties claim that the election is not competitive, is a farce.
It is good that they have finally understood, which means that they
are to think on what to do to use the constitutional electoral
mechanisms. However, the possibility of this is too low given the
nature of these parties.
The ANC, RPA, PAP and ARF have fully contributed to the annihilation
of the constitutional electoral mechanisms in Armenia. The Congress's
elite established the tradition in 1995 when it rigged the
parliamentary election and shot at people. They have participated in
rigged election and formed an anti-constitutional coalition, received
illegal quotas in politics, public administration and economy. In
other words, they are accomplices to a crime against the state and
people of Armenia.
By refraining from this election the parties carefully silence this
fact. Ostensibly, they had other reasons than the reasons which they
have shared with the public. In particular, judging by the concept of
their previous activities they were not promised new political and
economic quotas in the parliamentary election 2012 and they are not
promised anything now. This is the reason why the election suddenly
became meaningless to them. In this context, the ARF's appeal to
voters to show up at the polling stations and void the ballots means a
lot.
The ballot has already been voided by the criminal-oligarchic system
and its parties. It has been voided irrevocably for the political
parties which have participated in its devaluation and trade, buying
it cheaply from people and selling it expensively to the groups which
usurped power.
In fact, besides ripping off the veil of deception, the developments
of the recent years show people the way. First, the party system,
which covered the crimes of the system and `legitimized' different
groups which usurped power, misleading people with unseen demagogy,
collapsed. It is especially the case of the Armenian National Congress
and the PAP.
However, action is equal to counteraction, and these parties
eventually crashed. It is both due to the nature of these parties and
the growing public awareness of rights and duties. Civic groups and
initiatives have emerged which are able to change the situation and
achieve establishment of constitutional mechanisms.
In this context, the reasons brought by parties and their excuses that
life will continue after February 18 sound rather as threats to the
public. Life will continue indeed but without a fake system and fake
parties.
