Meeting of YSU students with NA Standing Committee chairman
The Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense,
National Security and Internal Affairs Koryun Nahapetian met today
with students of the Department of International Affairs of Yerevan
State University, the press service of the Armenian parliament
reports.
Nahapetian introduced the students to the structure of the parliament
and its standing committees, their activities, bill drafting, and
other activities of the parliament. He expressed hope that practical
training will widen the students' knowledge.
He stressed that the National Assembly of the fifth convocation
attaches great importance to parliamentary diplomacy and the
activities of Armenian delegations in international organizations, and
to the promotion and strengthening of links between the friendship
groups of MPs.
Koryun Nahapetian is the Head of the Armenian parliament's delegation
in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. At the meeting with YSU students,
he also spoke about NATO's functions, purposes and programs,
NATO-Armenia relations and their development prospects.
