YEREVAN. - A voter with a forged passport left it in the hands of a
member of the election commission and fled. This fact was presented to
journalists by Hovsep Khurshud, the spokesman for election
headquarters of presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian.
`Of course, we had no right to withdraw it from the hands of the
citizen. But when he gave it to a member of the Electoral Commission
who asked his father's name, the citizen was at loss what to say.
Being confused, he ran from the area, leaving the passport in the
hands of members of the Commission,' Khurshudyan told reporters on
Monday.
Another example given by them was a repeated ballot. The case was
registered in Yerevan Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district where the
chairman of one of the local election commissions went to vote at a
nearby station, where he met his neighbor. Returning to his duties as
the chairman at his polling station, he met the same neighbor who
wanted to vote again.
