Since the beginning of voting in Armenia, the Headquarters of Raffi
Hovannisian has received alarms of voter fraud at polling stations,
specifically, voter bribery, ballot stuffing and open voting, Hovsep
Khurshudyan, Spokesperson of the Headquarters told media.
He said that people are crowding at polling stations, which creates
tension among voters. All the appeals to the heads of the election
commissions to correct the situation proved useless. Khurshudyan said
that additional electoral registers at the polling stations include
over one hundred of voters registered also in other
communities.
"For instance, voters from Byureghavan voted at a polling station in
Kanaker-Zeytun community. We will demand the additional electoral
registers and the citizens included in the given registers will have
to submit a certificate from the living community," he said.
Khurshudyan also raised the issue of vanishing ink stamps and
demonstrated that the stamps in the passports of voters are easily
cleaned off by means of a wet wipe.
As of the afternoon iditord.org website registered 137 alarms of voter
fraud in the course of the presidential election in Armenia. Most of
the cases were observed in Yerevan (84), and least in Vayots Dzor
region (1).
Thus, 12 alarms of inaccuracies in electoral registers were reported,
another 50 cases were connected with voter bribery and pressure. 54
cases of violation during election campaign, 19 cases of violation of
voting procedure, 6 cases of voter fraud, and another 2 cases of
public disorders were reported.
