Hrant Bagratyan, ex-prime minister of Armenia, who ran for president
on Feb 18, has called on incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan and Leader
of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian to sit down to talk. Bagratyan
tells about this on his Facebook page.
He writes that another rigged elections were held in Armenia and,
as a result, the Liberty Square in the city center is crowded again.
"I have always thought that when changes are impossible in the legal
way, revolution is inevitable. But the situation is different now:
candidates from the government and opposition are ready for a dialogue
and negotiations," Bagratyan writes.
He urges Hovannisian and Sargsyan to start negotiations immediately
and try to find a way out of the situation. He thinks that both the
parties can simultaneously continue their action plans, but a meeting
may change much.
Since February 19 the supporters of Heritage Party Leader Raffi
Hovannisian, won got the second place by 36.75% of votes, have been
rallying in the Liberty Square against the election outcome. On
February 20 Hovannisian urged Serzh Sargsyan, the incumbent President
of Armenia, who won the Feb 18 election, to come to Liberty Square
and cede power.
Bagratyan visited Hovannisian in the Liberty Square overnight and
discussed the situation with him.
