YEREVAN. - International observers can write whatever they want, some
of them are honest, and some of them can be bought. But the fate of
the people must be decided by the people, the Armenian presidential
candidate, the leader of "Heritage" party Raffi Hovannisian said
during the rally.
The presidential candidate said he is proud of the officials and
police officers of the country, but the time has come for them to
understand that they should no longer obey illegal orders, and only
perform their duties.
"I do not say this on my behalf, but on behalf of the people, I order
them to ensure protection of our rights from here to the borders of
the republic," Hovannisian said.
Addressing his supporters, he once again urged not to respond to any
provocations. Raffi Hovannisian said that following political actions
will begin the next day, February 20, at 1PM.
"And if Serzh Sargsyan comes here at 2 or 3PM, we will meet him
with great respect, and will together proclaim the establishment of
the 4th Republic of Armenia - a country of justice and law," Raffi
Hovannisian said.
He also said that he would remain in the square and everybody who
wishes, can stay with him.
As of 7:40PM presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian, MPs from the
Heritage party and some demonstrators remain in the Liberty Square.
