Vice-Speaker of Armenia's parliament and Spokesman for the ruling
Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov has to quote
the first Armenian president Levon Ter-Petrosyan.
"We have numerous problems in our country. There is no country without
problems. Problems resolved yesterday are followed by problems of
today. However, this does not mean we do not need good work," Mr
Sharmazanov said.
He noted that Armenia's ruling party respects all the citizens that
voted for Raffi Hovannisian and for the other presidential candidates.
"We highly appreciate their opinion and we will have to face
the reality in future," Mr Sharmazanov said, noting a series of
resignations.
"Civilized world has civilized ways of political struggle, namely,
participating in new elections. The Armavir mayor has resigned and new
elections will take place," Mr Sharmazanov said. He disagrees with the
opinion that the 'poor votes" are the reason for their resignations.
