YEREVAN, FEBRYARY 26, ARMENPRESS: The visit of Armenia's Foreign
Affair Minister Edward Nalbandyan to Austria kicked off on February
25. On the same day Minister Nalbadyan had a meeting with Austrian
deputy PM, Federal Minister for European and International Relations
of the Republic of Austria Michael Schpindeleger, Information and
Public Relations department of the Foreign Affair Ministry told
Armenpress. The meeting started with private conversation, further
the negotiations continued by the participation of delegations.
Federal Minister for European and International Relations of the
Republic of Austria welcomed Armenia's Foreign Affair Minister,
stating considerable success has been registered in bilateral relations
during the last years thanks to joint efforts. Austrian President
Heinz Fischer's visit also contributed to it.
Edward Nalbandyan thanked his Austrian counterpart for an invitation
to visit Vienna, noted numerous meetings were held during the last
years at the level of Foreign Affair Ministers, regular consultations
were launched between two countries' Foreign Affair Ministries, legal
contractual field was expanded. Armenian and Austrian Foreign Affair
heads dwelled on agreements reached upon in the course of Austria's
President visit paid to Armenia, on preparation works regarding
Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan scheduled visit to Austria. By the
request of Austrian side Minister Nalbandyan presented the current
level of efforts exerted both by Armenian and international community
refer to Artsakh conflict solution.
In the conclusion of the day Edward Nalbandyan delivered a speech
entitled "The priorities of Armenia's foreign policy" hosted in
one of the oldest educational centers of Europe, Vienna diplomatic
academy. Vienna accredited Ambassadors and diplomats, Foreign Affair
Ministries high ranking officials, leading political scientists,
representatives of international organizations and mass media attended
it. Armenia's Foreign Affair Minister responded to the questions of
the present people.
