HRAPARAK: KHACHATUR SUKIASIAN TO BECOME YEREVAN MAYOR?

"Hraparak" daily writes that a number of officials believe that Taron
Margarian should not hold the position of Yerevan Mayor, especially
after the shameful results of the presidential election in Yerevan's
Avan community, whose administration Margarian previously headed.
Other officials are opposed to ex-mayor Gagik Beglarian's comeback.
An alternative candidate who would be acceptable to both the
authorities and the opposition is currently under consideration.
According to the newspaper, Khachatur Sukiasian may become Yerevan
Mayor.
