`Radiolur' correspondent gets an award from National Assembly Speaker

Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyn hosted a reception
for journalists accredited in the parliament and heads of media
organizations. Greeting the guests, the Speaker said `the National
Assembly is a not just the highest legislative body, but also a venue
for joint work.'
`I am confident that in 2012 our cooperation will be successful, as it
has always been. Regardless of the differences of our views and
political position, we have always managed to freely communicate with
each other within the limits of correctness and tolerance,
reasonability and sincerity.
Hovik Abrahamyan underlined that he stands for the atmosphere of
solidarity and tolerance, and added that he would continue to make all
efforts to ensure such an atmosphere in the National Assembly.
According to the Speaker, journalists and mass media are the pioneers
of formation and development of civil society.
Mr. Abrahamyan said he's sure journalists can freely execute their
rights and do their professional work in the parliament. `At the same
time, I think that neither the deputies, nor the journalists should
try to oppose their work and human relations to each other. Instead,
their activity should be coordinated, especially considering the
challenges and problems facing our country, which we must overcome
together,' he added.
Speaker Hovik Abrahamnyan congratulated the journalists on the
occasion of the New Year and Christmas. He handed watches to a group
of journalists for their unbiased coverage of the Parliament's
activity. `Radiolur' correspondent Artak Barseghyan was among the
awardees.
