RAILWAY RAILS DISMANTLED AND SOLD

The State Interests Protection Department of the General Prosecutor's
Office instituted a criminal case upon the dismantlement and sale of
the railroad by the General Director of an OJSC with the intention of
defalcation. "Pastinfo.am" received the information from the General
Prosecutor's office.
Upon the written notice presented by "South Caucasus Railways" CJSC,
the investigation found that the General Director of an OJSC having
managerial power, the power to sign the contracts and several other
powers, being aware that rails of 738.5 meters in length with the cost
of 64 578 060 AMD do not belong to the company and are the property of
the Republic of Armenia, in the period between 2006-2012, dismantled
and sold them, thus causing large-scale damage to the state.
A criminal Case was initiated in accordance with Article 179 Section
3 Clause 1 of RA Criminal Code. Investigation was assigned to the
Chief Department of Police Criminal Investigations.
