EUROPEAN UNION CHAIRMAN CONSIDERS STATUS QUO IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT UNACCEPTABLE

YEREVAN, JANUARY 9, ARMENPRESS: The European Union continues to adhere
to peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. President of the
European Union Herman Van Rompuy once again presented EU stance in
the course of the meeting with Azerbaijani Ambassador to the Kingdom
of Belgium Fuad Isqenderov, Armenpress reports citing APA agency.
European Union chairman states the status quo in Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict is unacceptable. Herman Van Rompuy underscored European
Union intends to contribute to the settlement of Karabakh conflict.
President of the European Union Herman Van Rompuy came forth within
his official visit to South Caucasus region in 2012 "Armenia and
Azerbaijan should fully implement their commitments undertaken within
the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. The sides should also strictly
maintain the cease fire regime, practice restraint and refrain from
military rhetoric.EU is ready to support any confidence building
measure".
