The clashes in Armenian-populated Syrian city of Aleppo are now taking
place more far from the Armenian districts but the residents of Nor
Gyugh (New village) district are still being scared by the sniper.
Speaking to Tert.am, spokesman for Berio Diocese of the Armenian
Church Zhirayr Reyisian said from the beginning of the year no
Armenians were killed in clashes. He though added that few days ago
an Armenian has been wounded by the sniper. The wounded person has
already undergone surgery.
Reyisian said the weather is cold while the people do not have fuel and
get electricity 2-3 hours at best. Internet and phone communications
are operating with interruptions.
The international Aleppo airport remains closed. The clashes near
it continue and it is not known when the roads taking to the airport
will open.
The bread issue has already improved. It was impossible to find bread
for already few weeks but currently some bakeries are already working
making it possible to acquire bread, though with higher prices.
