PRISONER SEWS UP MOUTH IN ARMENIA

Kamo Papyan, an inmate of the Sevan penitentiary, has sewn up his
mouth and gone on a hunger strike as a protest.
Gor Ghlechyan, Spokesman for the Department for Execution of
Punishments, informed Tert.am that the prisoner demands a meeting with
Russian Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko, Chief of Armenia's
Police Vladimir Gasparyan and photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan.
"He is in a one-man cell under doctors' supervision. Kamo Papyan is
a schizophrenic," Mr Ghlechyan said.
