Fugitive Vladimir Mangasaryan, 57, was arrested on January 17 after
midnight. He was in the wanted list from January 16 with fraud charges,
Armenia's police press service official told Tert.am.
American-based Armenian businessman Edmon Khudoyan has been accusing
Mangasaryan of embezzlement of $8.5 million equivalent real estate
property and $1.5 million equivalent sums from his "Arin Capital"
investment company he established in Armenia.
In his letter addressed to Armenian MP's Khudoyan stressed that
he applied to the chairman of the State Revenue Committee Gagik
Khachatryan hoping that the Committee would seize the unpaid taxes
and criminal case would be filed to hold the guilty accountable for
avoiding paying taxes and trying to make the company go bankrupt.
"Nothing was done for about 5 months but thanks to my consistent
work the issue was made public and a criminal case has been filed,"
Khudoyan wrote in his letter. He also sent an open letter to the
chief of the Armenian police Vladimir Gasparyan.
Mangasaryan has been sent to Nubarashen penitentiary.
