A meeting of Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Georgian
Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, who is on a visit to Armenia,
took place today. Following the meeting, the prime ministers gave a
press conference.
Bidzina Ivanishvili was asked a question about the pre-election
promises he gave to the Armenian community in Georgia, the
opportunities of their fulfillment, and the role of the Armenian
community in the life of Georgia.
Ivanishvili said he has many Armenian friends both in Georgia and
outside it. During the pre-election period he visited the areas
populated by Armenians and he was warmly received there.
"The ball is now in our court. I will do what I have promised,"
the Georgian prime minister reaffirmed his promise.
He stated that the Georgian government will do its best so that the
Georgian Armenians will feel at home.
It should be noted that the delegation headed by B. Ivanishvili has
arrived in Armenia today.
The Georgian prime minister is scheduled to meet with Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Catholicos
of All Armenians Garegin II, and a number of ministers.
