S. SARGSYAN VISITS ARARAT CUSTOMS TRAINING CENTER

As part of his visits to divisions of the State Revenue Committee of
Armenia, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited today the Ararat
regional customs training center where he familiarized himself with
the customs training programs.
The new uniform of customs officials and the newly-built computer
classroom were demonstrated to the president.
Serzh Sargsyan was familiarized with the practical courses of the
training center.
The Ararat customs training center started to operate on 24 July 2012.
It regularly runs courses for customs officials and customs brokers.
Some 300 employees have so far been retrained at the center. The
center has organized 12 seminars under the Twinning Program of the EU.
Deputy Head of the Tax Payer Service Department Suren Melik-Israelian
said that the newly-built classroom is equipped with equipment and
devices for customs control and has special training programs.
According to him, such equipment is used in all European countries,
but Armenia is the first CIS country to use it. Such devices are
also available at the country's airports and are also used by various
state bodies, including the Presidential Staff.
