OSCE ELECTION OBSERVERS VISIT GYUMRI MUNICIPALITY

GYUMRI. - Mayor Samvel Balasanyan of Armenia's City of Gyumri
received Friday OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human
Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) Election Observation Mission to Armenia members
Irene Fellmann (Germany) and Petr Preclik (Czech Republic), who
are conducting a long-term observation in Armenia's Shirak Region
within the framework of Armenia's presidential election to be held
on February 18.
Balasanyan underscored the OSCE/ODIHR mission and assured that he
will assist them within his mandate, the mayor's press secretary
Zohrap Yeganyan informed.
In their turn, the OSCE/ODIHR observers presented the objectives of
their mission. Also, they posed several questions to the mayor, and
with respect to the Electoral Code and the electoral process being
organized in Gyumri, and Balasanyan provided comprehensive answers
to these queries. In addition, the long-term observers informed that
the OSCE/ODIHR short-term observers will soon arrive in Armenia.
