Presidential candidate Hrant Bagratyan kicked off his campaign rallying
his supporters in Verin Artashat village in Ararat marz (province).
During the meeting, the country's former prime minister presented
his economic program entitled "Only 100 Steps to Social Justice."
Later on, the candidate answered the attendees' questions concerning
the gas tariffs, land tax, deposits and bank loans.
Asked why he had left the opposition Armenian National Congress (HAK),
Mr Baghratyan said, "I have not quit the opposition alliance. Some
people simply think that I should not have nominated my candidacy
for February's presidential election. But I must say that I am
determined to continue my struggle even if I know that the election
will be rigged."
At the end of the meeting, the candidate said, "This is not our last
meeting: the snowball is getting bigger."
