The Armenian American Medical Society is gearing up to host the
eleventh quadrennial Armenian Medical World Congresses (AMWC), in Los
Angeles, California, from July 3 to 7, 2013. The conference program
promises an outstanding list of internationally recognized experts and
healthcare professionals. This Congress will highlight advances in
various fields of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, health
education, ethics, and complementary and alternative medicine, as well
as other issues of interest and concern within the allied healthcare
fields.
Building on the strong foundation set forth by Armenian Medical World
Congresses in the past and under the auspices of the Armenian Medical
International Committee (AMIC), this year's congress will address some
of the most vital issues facing healthcare today. Keynote speakers and
panel discussants will focus on a broad range of relevant topics,
including the latest breakthroughs in regenerative medicine,
challenges facing healthcare in Armenia, technological advances that
are revolutionizing health care and the global paradox of over
consumption and under nutrition.
`It is our aim to design a high quality scientific program reflecting
state of the art clinical practice and providing a common forum for
discussion and debate in many disciplines of healthcare and science,'
said the President of the Armenian American Medical Society,
Dr. Vicken Sepilian who is also the Chairman of the organizing
committee of the congress. Set ideally in the thriving cosmopolitan
hub of Los Angeles, this year's Congress will take place at the
exclusive Loews Hollywood Hotel, part of the legendary Hollywood &
Highland Center--a five level retail and entertainment landmark, home
to the Dolby Theater (formerly the Kodak Theater) and the Grauman's
Chinese Theater, as well as several hundred premier retail stores and
fine restaurants.
In addition to being a dynamic forum rife with medical expertise and
exchange of knowledge, the social committee is planning a series of
spectacular events that will offer unique opportunities to socialize
and enjoy the numerous attractions of Los Angeles. A welcome
reception will take place at the historic Egyptian Theater, and the
Congress will culminate with a lavish Gala at the Dolby Theater, in
the same venue where the Oscars are held. This event will be catered
by the world famous celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck. All social
engagements and plenary topics are centered on the theme of this
year's Congress, `Uniting for a Healthy Future' -- which underpins
AMIC's mission of strengthening ties among healthcare professionals in
the Diaspora, and collectively working towards the shared goal of
creating a healthy future for the communities in the Diaspora and
Armenia.
We encourage all of you to attend and look forward to welcoming you to
the 11th AMWC in Hollywood in July of 2013! For more information and
