SERGEI LAVROV: RUSSIA WILL CONTINUE EFFORTS TO RESOLVE THE KARABAKH CONFLICT

Russia, along with other members of the OSCE Minsk Group will continue
its efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Russian Foreign
Minister Sergei Lavrov told a press conference in Moscow, Rossia

"If we want to resolve the problem in practice, we need to act as
co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group," Lavrov said.
According to Lavrov, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk have been working
for several years to prepare the agreement on the Nagorno-Karabakh
conflict resolution, but the parties have not agreed on the items of
the final document on the settlement.
"In May 2010, at the summit of the Group of Eight, Russian, U.S. and
French presidents issued a statement calling on Baku and Yerevan
to approve the document on the settlement, but the document was not
approved at the meeting in Kazan, ," he said.
According to Lavrov, the Foreign Ministers of the parties to the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict meet at this stage of negotiations, the work
continues and the OSCE Minsk Group has proposed a truncated version of
the document on the settlement, but there have been no results so far.
