The Armenian political field is undergoing interesting transformation.
While the PAP claimed the role of leader of dissatisfied citizens
not a long time ago, it is making maneuvers that perplex ordinary
citizens who are not good at political subtleties.
On the eve of the electoral process the PAP branch in Shirak was
"leased" to the RPA. It did not undergo a deep public discussion
because it is meaningless to fight the authorities, and such a long
resistance was heroism even for Gagik Tsarukyan.
The situation changed suddenly when Andrias Ghukasyan went on a hunger
strike. Dispute of the myth of impossibility to fight the government
challenged not only the opposition but Mr. Tsarukyan personally. The
hunger strike put the entire opposition, including the PAP before
a choice. The latter must express a stance which will "accommodate"
the logic of the deal over Shirak.
