The Armenian Police summed up the results of the measures taken to
make the data of the State Population Register reliable and complete.

The press-service of the Police reports that the Police officers
visited 15308 citizens that received new flats as compensation for
their demolished or collapsed buildings under the housing provision
program implemented with support of the government. 12657 of them
were introduced with the requirements of the Law On State Register
of the Population. In particular, they were required to re- register
their new addresses and cancel their previous registrations. Another
2651 citizens were not revealed. As of Jan 22, 1377 citizens with new
addresses were registered. Personal data of another 1019 deceased
citizens were removed from the State Register after their death
was confirmed by their relatives. To ensure accuracy of data in the
State Register of the Population, the addresses where ten and more
citizens are registered have been revealed at the request of Head of
the Armenian Police, Major General V. Gasparyan. The police officers
visited 11924 relevant addresses in Yerevan and in the regions and
found out that no one resides in the 817 addresses, with another 278
addresses having no owners: it were public facilities, enterprises,
    institutions and addressless buildings.
