Expired women Cosmetics are a ticking time bomb, according to new
study in the UK.
It was discovered that almost one in two women keeps cosmetics for
about 6 years, while the expiration date is significantly shorter.
This causes huge reproduction of toxins and bacteria that are
pathogens and significantly increase the risk of eye infections such
as bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and inflammation of the
eyelids, Raut informs.
Thus, the eye shadows are considered the main cause of the spread of
infection, as they are applied very close to the eye. Next on the
harmfulness are lipstick and liquid foundation that women keep on
average for 4 years, respectively, which is more than three years
longer than they should be kept. Mascara and eyeliner are kept in
average for 3 years.
The most frequently replenished beauty products are face powder, blush
and bronzer, but even they are kept for about a year longer than they
should. While doing this strictly contraindicated, as cosmetics easily
becomes an excellent breeding ground for bacteria, such as
Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermis.
