Malatya. Ancient Armenian cemetery in the city of Malatya (East
Turkey) has been re-opened for worship after being "accidentally"
damaged last year, Dogu Haber Ajansi reported.

In February 2012, the cemetery, which was earlier restored with
money from the association of Armenians in Istanbul, was demolished
"out of carelessness" by workers of the municipality.

The case incited serious negative reactions and severe criticism.

Back then Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan personally
interfered in the case and addressed Mayor Ahmet Cakir and set him
an ultimatum for the mistake to be corrected as soon as possible.
