GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED THE LAST PLUNDER
Ethnographer Hranush Kharatyan thinks that inflation triggered by
the gas and electricity price increases were not a surprise for the
Armenian society. Inflation and impoverishment will go on. She told
Lragir.am that along with inflation the prices of agricultural products
drop, hence farmers are suffering from deflation, and everyone suffers
from inflation.
She says that the rise of price is not reasoned because, for example,
dairy products have increased in price but milk is still bought from
farmers at the same price as before.
She said that only 100 large farmers get profits while small ones are
growing poorer. The economy, according to the ethnographer, develops
in the oligarchic way. Part of the society will get completely poor
and the other part will grow rich quickly.
Hranush Kharatyan says that the government can see that it will soon
have to leave, so it is trying to get the most out of the last stage
of plunder.
Dwelling on the rate of emigration, Kharatyan said that everyone
is leaving, whoever can leaves the country. This is a catastrophe,
she said.
