The small-to-medium business is of a certain importance for the
steadfast economic growth of a country, as it gives innovational
impulses to the economy. "Armenpress" News Agency highly appreciates
the significant role the small-to-medium business plays; each week
"Armenpress" introduces business stories regarding various branches of
economy. This time the project is dedicated to the story of Marcella
Khurshudyan, who urges the beginners to launch their business with
small volumes and then expand and develop it gradually.
YEREVAN, JUNE 27, ARMENPRESS. Large financial investments are not
necessary for the asparagus production. All one needs is patience to
wait for the first harvest, which follows sowing. Marcella Khurshudyan,
inventor of a unique enterprise in Armenia - production of organic
asparagus, has decided to stop her choice on that difficult job. She
is not the sole business engaged in this hard work. Her husband,
sons and daughter assist her in this business.
The 48-year old woman entrepreneur stated: 'I was thinking about the
kind of the plant I would like to cultivate, which will be new in
Armenia. I wanted it to be organic and not a widespread plant. And
I have stopped my choice on asparagus.'
On April 5, 2013, Marcella Khurshudyan was awarded with a special
price for the realization of her idea and she received the price of
the Entrepreneurship Development and Market Competitiveness (EDMC)
program at the course of "Best Women Entrepreneur 2013" awardgiving
ceremony of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. Khurshudyan
started the realization of her idea yet in 2007.
