DORTMUND SIGN ARMENIAN INTERNATIONAL

international Dortmund, Germany Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday signed
Armenian international Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a four-year contract.
"It was not an easy transfer but we absolutely wanted Henrich - and
now we have him," said Dortmund managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke,
who secured the offensive midfielder until June 30, 2017.
Dortmund had to pay a transfer fee of 24 million euro (30.8 million
dollars) for Mkhitaryan, whose transfer rights were held predominantly
by Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
The 24-year-old Mkhitaryan, who will wear the number 10 shirt in
Dortmund, has earned 37 caps for the Armenian national team. He
scored 25 goals and had 10 assists in 29 matches in Ukraine's top
flight last season.
Mkhitaryan is Dortmund's third acquisition following Sokratis from
Bremen and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from St. Etienne.
