Borussia Dortmund continue to strengthen their side this summer
after having announced that the yellow and black have signed Armenian
international attacking midfielder, Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Ukrainian
club Shakhtar Donetsk for the fee of [email protected] million according to
Goal.com on Jul. 9, 2013.
The 24-year-old playmaker joins the club on the back of Mario Gotze's
exit and the arrival of highly rated French attacker Pierre-Emerick
Aubameyang from Saint-Etienne.
After a career year in which he helped to lead Donetsk to yet another
Ukrainian title, the goal hungry midfielder scored 26 goals last
season and will hope to see some of that translate to his new home.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc told the club's official
website about his excitement to have secured their replacement
for Gotze:
" "We are very pleased to have strengthened our attacking midfield
with a superb signing like Henrik Mkhitaryan."
The new arrival to the North Rhine-Westphalia club is set to wear
the no. 10 kit and has agreed a contract with the club that runs
through 2017.
