PanARMENIAN.Net - No trace of Armenian monuments has been left in
Nakhichevan, ICOMOS director said, slamming Azerbaijan for having
turned the churches into mosques during the Karabakh war.
"We can't cooperate with Azeri experts, since the country withdrew
its ICOMOS membership in 2003. Turkey, however, continues demolishing
Armenian monuments despite joining the convention. Still, the ICOMOS
membership enables Armenian experts to familiarize themselves with
the plans of reconstruction of the churches despite the absence of
diplomatic ties," Garik Gyurjyan said.
According to Hague Convention, Yerevan has a right to sue Turkey and
Azerbaijan for demolition of Armenian monuments.
