CHESS: MOVSESIAN WINS IN SLOVAKIA; ARMENIAN GM AMONG LEADERS AT KAZAN UNIVERSIADE

Grandmaster Sergei Movsesian has taken the first prize with a 100
percent result at a blitz competition in Slovakia. The Armenian
scored 11 points out of 11 at the tournament held in the Slovak town
of Banska Stiavnica, reports Armchess.am.
The nearest of Movsesian's rivals finished 2.5 points behind the
winner.
Meanwhile, Armenian GM Zaven Andriasian scored 3.5 points after
four rounds of play at the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan, Russia,
and currently shares lead with six other participants at the student
games. GM Robert Hovhannisyan is half a point behind the leaders.
The same source reports that WGMs Lilit Mkrtchian, Maria Kursova,
Lilit Galojan and WIM Anna Hairapetian are going to take part in the
14th European Individual Women's Championship to be held from July
23 till August 3, 2013 in Belgrade, Serbia.
