During a closed-door meeting with the representatives of four
parliamentary forces of Armenia - ARF Dashnaktsutyun, Heritage Party,
Armenian National Congress and Prosperous Armenia Party - Stefan
Fule, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy,
has expressed his concern over the sale of Russian offensive arms
to Azerbaijan.
The parliamentarians who attended the meeting say that Fule raised
this issue in the context of general challenges faced by the republic.
The meeting also covered the issue of Armenia's upcoming signing
of the EU Association Agreement. Fule assured the participants that
this Agreement does not make Armenia choose between the integration
projects (EU and the Customs Union initiated by Russia - editor's
note). Moreover, the Commissioner promised that the Association
Agreement will open up new sales markets for Armenia. The meeting
also covered domestic political issues of Armenia.
