AUSTRALIAN MPS MEET WITH ARMENIAN PRESIDENT

YEREVAN. - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday received the
delegation of Australia's New South Wales parliament headed by chairman
of Armenia-Australia parliamentary friendship group Jonathan O'Dea.
Welcoming the guests, President Sargsyan noted that each member has
made significant contribution to strengthening of Armenia-Australia
relations. Serzh Sargsyan noted importance of such visits, providing
an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with Armenia and regional
processes, get answers to your questions by directly communicating
with colleagues.
Armenian leader expressed gratitude to the members of the delegation
for the strengthening of relations, active and consistent efforts
into recognition of the Armenian Genocide and Karabakh people's right
to self-determination.
The sides noted the role of the small but influential Armenian
community of Australia, stressing importance of cooperation in
inter-parliamentary format and within international organizations.
Head of the delegation noted that there are representatives of various
parties in the delegation and he is authorized to speak for the whole
parliament of the desire and willingness of the Australian side to
develop and deepen friendly relations with Armenia.
