Armenia's cooperation with the outer world is complicated by the
closed communications, political scientist, Director of the Caucasus
Institute Alexander Iskandaryan told reporters in Yerevan in commenting
on the possibility of opening of the Armenian-Turkish border following
Vilnius summit.
The closed border with Turkey causes problems for Armenian economy,
he added.
"I think Europe will put no pressure on Turkey in the issue of
opening the Armenian-Turkish border. Europe is just not able to put a
strong pressure on Turkey. Only the United States is capable of it,"
Iskandaryan said.
Regarding the Karabakh settlement, according to the analyst, the
status quo will be maintained and there will be no significant change
in this issue.
