    ARMENIA LAUNCHES BLACK SEA SILK ROAD CORRIDOR

    17 July 2013 - 12:55pm Armenia, Greece, Turkey and Georgia have
    officially launched the Black Sea Silk Road Corridor in the Vaynatsdzor
    Region of Armenia. The program will stimulate tourism and development
    of 173 communities of the four countries, News Armenia reports.

    The Culture Ministry of Armenia and the Armenian Monuments Awareness
    Project (AMAP) signed a deal in April 2013 to form multi-language
    information boards at cultural monuments in regions of Armenia.

    2-3 million tourists will visit Armenia with the help of the program,
    Richard Nay of the AMAP said.

    US Ambassador John Heffern said that the program will help the four
    states improve cooperation.

    The program received [email protected] million, ~@325,500 of which were granted
    to Armenia. The program includes 43 cultural facilities in 7 regions
    of Armenia. 148 information signs, 114 information boards and 77
    tourism routes will be set in 43 areas of Armenia. The EU will grant
    80% of the sum, USAID 20%.
