ARA ABRAHAMYAN HAS TO PAY AND A LOT
The Union of Armenians of Russia Ara Abrahamyan was the guest of
a talk show on Russia 1 Channel. The talk show was devoted to the
tragic accident which killed 18 people.
Ara Abrahamyan looked depressed, even confused, which one can
understand. He willy-nilly represented the citizen of Armenia whose
truck clashed with the bus causing the death of 18 people. No matter
how much assistance Ara Abrahamyan would promise to the victims,
even though he announced that he is a citizen of Russia, he was the
representative of the charged driver to this talk show.
Perhaps this is what depressed him. He might have been depressed by
possible anti-Armenian wave that is expected in Russia in the result
of this tragedy. Ara Abrahamyan had one thousand reasons for being
depressed by what happened. So do the Armenian rich people who act
as middlemen between the Kremlin and Yerevan.
The talk show was the muffler of the response of the Russian mass
media. There were little foci on the Armenian driver, even accusations
were few and there was a lot of talking about the system in place
which is operational or not. Perhaps the purpose of the talk show
was to cool down the heated reaction and suppress further dangerous
spread of the anti-Armenian wave.
It also could be the reason for Ara Abrahamyan's depression. The
talk show may have cost him quite expensive. After all, a country
doing business with Azerbaijan could also do business with Armenians
demanding a pay for the prevention of an anti-Armenian wave. And
the Armenians who can afford to pay are naturally facing a choice:
either they do business with Russia or Russia does business with
Azerbaijan only.
The status of intermediary capitalists between the Kremlin and Yerevan
was really complicated, and it is getting even more complicated in
extreme situations. Of course, they could pay to stop the anti-Armenian
wave. It is commendable because such a wave in Russia is highly
undesired and undue.
On the other hand, there is danger that the final result might
eventually be not the prevention of the anti-Armenian wave but an
investment in a business when regularly similar occasions are brought
about and "profitable" talk shows are organized. And as they say,
the reason will always be found.
Perhaps the danger of precedent is one of the circumstances that make
Ara Abrahamyan feel depressed.
One of the deep reasons is the inaction of the Armenian capital in
Russia towards creating precedents of higher quality mediation. In
the case of Russia it is very difficult, especially that for some
people the question of the first million may sound like a threat. In
addition, the mission of mediator is equally delegated to these people
to make mediation better controlled and to reduce the fee.
However, severe incidents and tragic episodes that occur from time
to time are evidence that illusory obedience and the policy of
waiving economic and political entity do not bring an easy life but
will result in unpreparedness for difficulties. Even though it is
difficult for foreign capitalists to become economic and political
entities in Russia, the imperfect but relatively safer option of
self-defense and mediation for the homeland in strategic terms is
establishment of viable institutions when persons obey institutions,
not institutions are laid out so as to obey persons.
Has the Armenian capital tried to take on mediation? Has it thought
about this option or did it lack the will, as well as perception and
worldview to do it.
The policy that hard times will pass is not adequate to the dynamic
world because now every child knows that winter does not pass, it
repeats every year.
