VARDAN GHUKASYAN BEAT UP DEFENDANT'S FATHER IN COURT
The Haykakan Zhamanak Daily reports that the ex-mayor of Gyumri Vardan
Ghukasyan finally showed up at the court which is examining the murder
of his son-in-law but refused to answer the questions of the counsel
for the prosecution because the latter is a woman, as he said.
According to Hetq.am, as soon as Ghukasyan entered the court,
he ordered all journalists to leave the room. He went to the court
with an "escort" of 30 people.
The judge fulfilled his order and in the absence of journalists,
Republican Ghukasyan beat up former chief of police of Ani, Samvel
Harutiunyan who is the father of the defendant. After the beating,
Harutiunyan was taken to intensive care unit of the local hospital.
Samvel Harutiunyan's wife had stated during one of the court sessions
that Vardan Ghukasyan's son-in-law was killed by Ghukasyan's son
Spartak.
