IMPORT OF RUSSIAN NATURAL GAS TO ARMENIA IN THE FIRST HALF FELL BY 7.2% TO 945 MILLION CUBIC METERS
YEREVAN, July 19. / ARKA /. The import of Russian natural gas to
Armenia in the first half of the year fell by 7.2% year-on-year to
945 million cubic meters, ArmRosGazprom national gas distributing
company said today. It said sales of Russian gas in the reporting
period dropped by 2.2 percent to 825.7 million cubic meters.
Compared to last year's first half, natural gas consumption by energy
sector slashed by 15.4% to 84.8 million cubic meters. Household
consumption decreased by 10% to 300.7 million cubic meters and other
consumers' consumption fell by 5.8% to 97.7 million cubic meters.
In the first half of this year sales of natural gas to the industry
increased by 13.6%, sales to liquefied gas stations rose by 10.7%
to 135.4 million and 207 million cubic meters respectively.
ArmRosGazprom is the sole supplier and distributor of Russian natural
gas. The company was founded in 1997; its shareholders are Gazprom
and the Armenian government. -0-
