EURO 500,000 to be donated to young Armenian scientists

Chairman of the Science Committee, Armenia's Ministry of Education
and Science, Samvel Harutyunyan informed Tert.am that to encourage
young scientists Armenia's government decided to donate AMD 100m to
the Youth Foundation of Armenia this year.
The Science Committee has budgeted AMD 150m more for young scientists.
So the total amount is AMD 250m (~@500,000).
"More scientists can be involved if they cooperate with certain funds.
The Youth Foundation followed this principle last time and the funds
were efficiently used," he said.
Armenia has an unprecedentedly high number of scientific contacts
with other countries now.
"Under international programs we are sponsoring about 100 projects
in cooperation with Germany, France, Russia, Belgium and the USA. We
are also implementing innovation projects with the private sector,"
Harutyunyan said.
Moreover, Armenia in the CIS leader in terms of articles in
international scientific journals and ranks second in the world,
Israel being the leader.
