ARMENIA TO SEND SATELLITE TO SPACE

YEREVAN. - The Armcosmos Company was established in 2012 within the
system of the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Armenia.
The company was created with the objective of launching Armenia's
own satellite and stationing it in the geostationary orbit which is
allocated to Armenia.
The Ministry of Transport and Communication has filed an international
application to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), with
a request to register the right for a geostationary orbit position,
Ministry Chief of Staff Gagik Grigoryan toldArmenian News-NEWS.am.
Once ITU registers the aforesaid right and the research is completed,
talks will be conducted with respect to the designing and construction
of the satellite, the sources of respective funding, and the dates
for launching the satellite.
